The Mobylette AV 3 was first built back in 1949 and was the mark one mobylette The AV3 is more of an autocycle than moped.
The early AV3 mobylette has an exhaust manifold that comes out the side of the engine.
The early mobylette AV3's bicycle frame was copied by the Raleigh Runabout in later years except for a larger fuel tank fitted.
Mobylette engines fittings never changed it was always hung from the frame using the barrel head which was simple but makes decarbonising and simple jobs a hassle due to the engine having to be removed from the barrel head and the exhaust.
